1 · Panel schedule

SurfaceArea (m²)PanelsPanel length
Wall height vs max unsupported
Ceiling span vs max unsupported

2 · Envelope U-value & R-value

Panel U-value (verified)
Panel R-value (verified)
Envelope conductance, UA = U × insulated panel area

3 · Indicative conduction heat load

Temperature difference, ΔT
Insulated panel area, A
Steady conduction through panels, Q = U · A · ΔT
Indicative only. This is the steady-state fabric conduction load through the panel envelope. It excludes door / infiltration, product pull-down, respiration, people, lighting, fan & defrost heat, floor-to-ground gain and safety margin. A qualified refrigeration engineer must size the plant (SANS 10147 / relevant design guide).

4 · Panel mass

Panel self-weight
Total panel mass (walls + ceiling + floor)

Basis & assumptions

Verified sources. StoneWool panel U / R / mass and max unsupported spans: LiteSpan StoneWool Wall Panel brochure. FRCel EPS installed R: LiteSpan 990 roof panel brochure. Cover width 1145 mm and EPS 20 kg/m³ core: Mauritius cold-room supply. Steel skin 0.5 mm × 7850 kg/m³.
Assumptions / caveats (confirm with Technopol).
Disclaimer. First-order, indicative results for concept design, quantity take-off and comparison only — not a construction issue, a refrigeration plant sizing, nor a structural / fire certification. Panel counts round up per surface (corner overlaps and cutting offcuts are not optimised). U-values are the published panel core conductance and exclude internal / external surface films (≈ R 0.17 m²K/W), so the conduction load is slightly conservative. Verify panel spec, spans, floor build-up, doors, fire rating and the refrigeration load with Technopol and the project engineers before ordering or building. © Technopol SA (Pty) Ltd · Leaders in EPS since 1993 · info@technopol.co.za · www.technopol.co.za · (011) 363-2780/1/2
