EIFS in metal — steel profiles over external EPS insulation · sheet quantities, R/U-value, indicative weight & fixing schedule · 6 profiles + NuClad ceiling boards

Application & area

m
m

Profile & external insulation

mm
Continuous external EPS over the substrate — set to the R-value target (any thickness; published anchors at 50 / 100 / 150 mm).

Fixing & weight assumptions

mm
Purlin / girt / batten spacing. Assumed value — set by the project engineer for wind and span.
kg/m³
Standard 15 kg/m³ (20 / 30 to order; FRCel grades 12–30).
%
Steel profile taken as 0.50 mm steel at 7850 kg/m³ (≈ 3.93 kg/m²). Excludes paint / metallic coating and profiling.

1 · Sheet quantities

Cover width (net)
Linear metres of profile (A ÷ cover)
Full-height runs (⌈L ÷ cover⌉)
Order length (runs × H, +waste)

2 · Thermal performance

Thermal resistance, R
Thermal transmittance, U

3 · Indicative system weight

Steel profile (0.5 mm)
EPS insulation
System weight per m²
Total for the area
Indicative only — 0.50 mm steel profile plus the external EPS insulation; excludes coatings, rails, fixings and profiling development. Confirm exact per-m² figures with Technopol.

4 · Fastener / clip schedule

Fixing density
Fasteners required
Fixing count is indicative at the assumed support centres and one fixing line per cover width (concealed profiles) or the stated crest count (through-fixed). Actual fastener type, gauge, pattern and edge/end zones are set by the project engineer for the wind zone. Roofing-rated profiles also need end-lap fasteners and a confirmed minimum roof pitch (confirm with Technopol).

Disclaimer. This tool gives first-order, indicative take-off quantities for estimating and comparison only. Structural design — span, wind uplift, fixing type and spacing, edge and end zones, minimum roof pitch for roofing-rated profiles and per-m² system weight — is the responsibility of the project engineer; Technopol publishes no span or wind-uplift load tables for these profiles. Cover width is the net covered width, so quantities ordered to cover width already include the side-lap / seam. LiteClad has no Agrément certificate (Agrément 2020/609 covers LiteCore only).

Thermal. Cladding R is the external EPS insulation, interpolated from Technopol's installed FRCel figures (50 mm ≈ 1.62, 100 mm ≈ 2.95, 150 mm ≈ 4.40 m²K/W); the 0.5 mm steel profile adds negligible R and U = 1/R is derived. NuClad ceiling R and U are quoted directly from Technopol's published board data. LiteCel and FRCel R are comparable but should be confirmed.

Fire — two distinct claims. (a) Reaction-to-fire (material): the FRCel EPS insulation is classified Class B-s1,d0 to SANS 53501-1 (Ignis Testing IT 23-08-00009) — a material reaction-to-fire class, not a minutes rating. (b) Fire resistance (assembly): the NuClad LiteCore LSF Wall System achieved a 60-minute rating for Stability, Integrity and Insulation (REI 60) to SANS 10177-2 (Fire Testing Services, CSIR Pretoria). That rating applies to that specific tested wall assembly, not to a bare cladding profile. Full test report available from Technopol on request.
